NYSE Direct Floor Trading

Our presence on the NYSE trade floor allows the buy-side trader to adapt quickly to changing market conditions, resulting in price improvement, a better read into liquidity and therefore more completed orders

Our NYSE booth is a full-service branch office with total access to all exchange and OTC listed stocks while still providing the liquidity and matching capabilities of a floor operation. Advanced technology including handheld devices enables our traders to match closing prices. We provide the most accurate price indication for openings, closing and re-openings (after trading timeouts).

Client orders are delivered directly to our traders on the floor of the NYSE either electronically, via FIX connections, Instant Messaging or by telephone.

As an extension of this, we also offer our Market Analysis, a daily online market discussion providing price indication, order imbalance and market sentiment.

Direct NYSE Floor Acces Advantages:

  • Having an agent on the floor to help assess the market, allows the buy-side trader to adapt quickly to changing market conditions, resulting in price improvement, a better read into liquidity and therefore more completed orders.
  • Direct Access Floor Brokerage allows the customer parity with trades on the New York Stock Exchange. Floor Brokers are entitled to a larger percentage of trades on the floor than if the customer was accessing liquidity electronically. Using a floor broker to access liquidity on the floor directly cannot be underestimated when wanting to accumulate or dispose of a Position quickly.

  • Major advantages of direct access to the NYSE floor would include low commission costs, anonymity to clients, and a general presence on the floor. Additionally, the ability of floor brokers to access and assess liquidity at the point of sale, beyond what is advertised on the specialist’s book, has become a more compelling advantage.
  • Utilization of the MIXIT platform which has been enabled for all the latest algorithms, Dark Pools and liquidity Crossing Centers.
  • BBSS (Broker to booth support system): Orders can be routed electronically to a floor broker standing in a crowd. Reports are then sent instantaneously keeping the trader advised as the order progresses.
  • The BBSS connects to most Order Management Systems for fast reliable access to our floor brokers.
  • Specific competence in Block Trade execution – finding and accessing pools of block side liquidity.
  • Sophisticated ”On-Floor” algorithms – minimizing slippage.
  • Market opening and close – dictating the price.
  • Discretionary Quote Strategy:
    • Allows our customers to send a market order to our floor broker and have it represented electronically through the NYSE Discretionary Quote.
    • This strategy will allow the order to receive the closing print price, and retain the right to cancel the order up until the closing bell.
    • Additionally, if the stock closes at a Discretionary Quote limit order’s price; the order is represented on parity and will receive a straight match based upon the percentage of the order to the number of other publicly entered orders.
  • Anonymity:
    • Our clients' orders are held in the strictest confidence.
    • Because only our floor broker and trading assistant know the identity of our clients, our clients can operate under the radar screen.
    • This discretion and professionalism extends to all phases of settlement.
